“The Burren Lions” as if carved by nature itself and in keeping with its natural environment, sit proud within the heart of the majestic Burren. Hand carved in Irish Limestone, the pair of Burren Lions extend to 2.4m in length and 1.1m in height, with their features depicting the natural weathering and erosion of the Burren over the millennia – the water beaten face of the lions depict that of the coastal erosion found in the Flaggy Shore or the mysterious subterranean karst landscape of the Burren, while the body extends back, highlighting the natural Limestone Pavements of the Burren.
